Who "certifies" the Officers in the Detention Center?

Answer:

All officers, and support staff, must attend and successfully complete the training academy facilitated by the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commission.  The length of your academy training is determined by the position they have been hired to fill.  Once certified, they must maintain their certification by completing a minimum of 18 hours of certified in-service training annually.
